Hycroft Reports Highest Gold Grades Yet at Its Nevada Mine

Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation (Nasdaq: HYMC) has reported the highest gold grades to date at its Hycroft mine in Nevada, extending a high-grade zone under evaluation for possible underground mining. The results were released on Tuesday.

Hole H26D-6175A cut 19.6 metres grading 30.49 grams of gold and 1,726.72 grams of silver per tonne from a depth of 416.5 metres. Within that interval, a 1.7-metre core assayed 347.07 grams of gold and 9,526.36 grams of silver per tonne, with visible gold observed.

Hole From (m) Interval (m) Gold (g/t) Silver (g/t)
H26D-6175A 416.5 19.6 30.49 1,726.72
H26D-6175A 433.2 1.7 347.07 9,526.36

The Vortex and neighbouring Brimstone systems host measured and indicated resources of 18.1 million tonnes grading 154.71 grams of silver and 0.512 gram of gold per tonne, containing 90.2 million ounces of silver and 299,000 ounces of gold, according to a January estimate.

Hycroft has engaged Respec to develop a conceptual underground mine plan and Hatch to evaluate processing options, supported by metallurgical testing at Hazen Research. BMO Capital Markets sees the underground option as potential upside, estimating a construction cost of about $3.4 billion (C$4.8 billion) for the broader milling project.

A decision on restarting heap leaching could come by year-end. Hycroft held $221 million in cash and no debt at June 30.
